Eta Phi Chapter at Boston University

Kappa Delta

Our Recruitment

Dear Potential New Member,

The sisters of Kappa Delta would like to welcome you to Boston University! Some of the best years of your lives are ahead of you, and we encourage you to the make of the most of your time here at BU.

Being involved in the Greek community is a unique experience and a wonderful way to stand out and expose yourself to other campus activities. During recruitment each spring, we look to find outstanding and bright young women to join our sisterhood. Our sisters are seen all over campus in a variety of organizations. From Student Government to the Community Service Center, you are sure to find a perfect spot for yourself in Kappa Delta.

Throughout your college experience you will not only find lifelong friends in Kappa Delta but true sisters. As the Vice President of Membership, I encourage you to enjoy the recruitment process and hope that you feel comfortable each time you visit our chapter. Please feel free to contact Panhellenic Council if you have any questions.

Our sisters look forward to seeing you at recruitment!

Love in AOT,
Nicole Avazian, Vice President - Membership

For women, the Panhellenic Council (Panhel) is responsible for sorority recruitment. At Boston University, Sorority Formal Recruitment takes place only once a year in the beginning of the Spring semester. More information is available on the BU Greek Life page.

Formal Recruitment

Kappa Delta hopes to see you Go Greek this spring!

Go Greek: The first round of recruitment is when all potential new members have the opportunity to meet all 10 chapters on BU's campus. The long and hectic day is worth it to meet the members of each sorority, and you get more of an insight into what Greek Life at BU is all about.

Philanthropy: Philanthropy round is very important to Kappa Delta, as potential new members will learn about our philanthropies, Girl Scouts of the USA and Prevent Child Abuse America. We are extremely hands-on with our philanthropies and our platform of confidence and love sharing our experiences with potential new members.

Sisterhood: Sisterhood round is all about a typical "day in the life" of a new member of a sorority. Potential new members will learn all about finances, academics, social, and sisterhood activities that Kappa Deltas are involved with. A short video presentation will also be shown showing videos of sisters studying abroad, participating in outside organizations, and various social and sisterhood events throughout the school year.

Preference: Preference round is an extremely special round, as you get a glimpse of Kappa Delta's ritual. During preference, we want each potential new member to know how special it was to get to know them as sisters share their memorable and touching experiences while they have been in the chapter.

Bid Day: On the last day of recruitment, potential new members will receive an invitation to join a sorority. We want each new member to know how ecstatic we are to accept them into our chapter and celebrate them after a long week!
